Sometimes we tell ourselves, “I’m not perfect,” and unknowingly use it as a reason to to hold back from doing good or growing in faith. We become so focused on our sins that we forget a deeper reality: our imperfection is not only because we fall into sin, but because we are created weak and are constantly in need of Allah.
So never let your shortcomings stop you from taking a step towards Him.
Instead, let your weakness become the very reason you keep returning to Allah in sincere repentance (Taubah). Rely on Him for everything, from the strength to stand in prayer, to the ability to fulfil your daily responsibilities, even in the smallest matters we often overlook.
Every good deed begins with Him. Allah grants us the time, the health, the opportunities, the knowledge, the means, and even the desire to seek Him. Without His facilitation (Tawfīq), none of it would be possible.
When we truly realise this, we stop relying on ourselves and begin relying on the One who has always been sustaining us.
Our journey is not about becoming perfect. It is about continually returning to Allah with humility, sincere repentance, and complete reliance upon Him. In doing so, we come to recognise our truest identity—not as self-sufficient individuals, but as human beings who need one another, and above all, as devoted servants who are entirely dependent upon Allah, the Almighty.
The perfection of servitude is not found in being flawless, but in being deeply aware of our imperfections.
